Home Made Trail Bars

Mixed Trail Bars - These are loaded with good ingredients, filling and a tasty.

160gr dates

120ml coconut oil

1 tbsp cacao powder or beet powder (optional)

100gr desiccated coconut

90g pumpkin seeds

80g slivered almonds

30g chia seeds

50g oats

50gr chocolate protein powder

To Cover: 100g good quality chocolate, melted

Line a deep tin with silver foil and then clingfilm leaving an overhang so you have something to hold on to when removing the bars.

Add dates and oil to a pot and cook on a gentle heat until the dates are soft and the oil is melted. Add to the food processor and blend to a thick puree. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until incorporated well.

Pour into your tin and press down flat with the back of a spoon. Cover with the cling film and press again until it is really nice and flat then leave in the fridge for an hour to set

Cover with melted chocolate, put back into the fridge to set and then cut into bars.

Store in the fridge.
